HLH is involved with a pretty cool project at the moment as a sponsor/supplier. We are making some parts for the Technion Formula Student Racing Team at the Israel Institute of Technology. You can follow their 2018 build here on Facebook. It is great to be a part of this project, it is great to make these parts. But to be honest, I really want to drive the car more
Who they are in their own words: Technion FSAE Racing is a racing team which is comprised of students from several faculties of the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. The team goal is to design, manufacture and compete in an international competition of the SAE – Society of Automotive Engineers organization which is named Formula SAE. The concept behind Formula SAE is that a fictional manufacturing company has contracted a student design team to develop a small Formula-style race car. The prototype race car is to be evaluated for its potential as a production item. Each student team designs, builds and tests a prototype based on a series of rules, whose purpose is both ensuring on-track safety (the cars are driven by the students themselves) and promoting clever problem-solving. The prototype race car is judged in a number of different events: Design Event, Cost & Manufacturing Analysis Event, business Presentation Event, Acceleration Event, Skidpad Event, Autocross Event, Fuel Economy Event, and Endurance Event.
Here are some of the parts we have made so far (parts are on top of last years car). More part photos to come once we have made them. Also updated photos of the 2018 car once fabricated. We can’t wait to see the full build!
