Rapid Prototype Tips – HLH Mini Blog
Rapid Prototype manufacturing is a great way to speed up your design verification phase. Here are some tips to consider which may help you with your next rapid prototype project.
Tip 1: Try submitting different designs with slight variations so you can receive more than 1 rapid prototype at a time to review. This helps speed up the iteration process and help to finalise your design faster.
Tip 2:Â Consider a smaller scale version (for speed of fabrication) if you are in the early design phases and just trying to determine the aesthetic look of your part/product.
Tip 3:Â A prototype with variable wall thicknesses could speed up your design iteration process. For example, if you are designing a housing and are unsure of needed wall thickness in the corners, submit a design that has different wall thicknesses in these areas. Essentially you are reviewing several designs in a single rapid prototype.
Tip 4:Â Your rapid prototype manufacturing process should match the part/products end use. For example, a more robust CNC machined part may be needed for parts that require added strength. Choose the right fabrication process.
Whatever your rapid prototype needs are, HLH has the experience and diversity of services you need to help make your project a success.
