Direct Metal Laser Sintering by HLH Prototypes
Direct Metal Laser Sintering or DMLS is an industrial 3D printing technology which builds parts from a range of metal materials one layer at a time by sintering metal powders together. This process is capable of building highly complex shapes which would be near impossible to make via other methods.
The difference between DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering) and SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) is the type of materials that can be used to print the required parts.

We have had everything from soft rubber to hard plastics, various grades of aluminum to stainless steel parts prototyped via HLH to characterize the performance and gain high level of confidence on design months before actual verification parts and data is available. We have used many of their arsenals of processes from SLA, CNC mill, lathe, forming, wire-cutting, EDM, vacuum cast and my favorite – custom springs. Product development is so much more progressive and easier with HLH as your prototype partner.

DMLS 3D Printing Tips
Due to the weight of the material overhanging sections will almost always need support which must be removed post process. Post process machining of parts is required to achieve tight tolerances and for holes and threads.
